Two Fundamental of Therapeutic Massage

Rehabilitative massage – also known as deep tissue, medical, therapeutic or clinical massage; practiced in many settings like clinics, hospitals, and chiropractic offices

Relaxation massage - also known as Swedish massage; practiced in settings like spas, wellness centers, and resorts

People seek massage therapy for a variety of reasons – to reduce stress and anxiety, relax muscles, rehabilitate injuries, reduce pain, and promote overall health and wellness.

Benefits of Massage

Lower heart  and Reduce daily stress

From shoulder tension to elevated blood pressure and heart health, stress affects us all. Working out muscle tension during a massage helps make chronic pain - as well as short term stress - easier to work through.

Improve Posture and Increase Confidence

Bad posture can quickly become a bad habit that compromises proper spinal alignment. Therapeutic massage works to help loosen muscles & joints and reinforce the body’s natural movements.

Increased Circulation and Add more Relaxation

Muscle tension can restrict circulation, but massage helps relax chronically tense and tightened muscles to promote increased blood flow and flush harmful toxins out of your body.

A reminder before Booking a Massage Session

There are some people who should avoid some type of massage in order to protect their health. These people include:

  1. Those prone to blood clots, due to a risk of clots being dislodged during the session.
  2. Those recovering from surgery.
  3. Those who have just had chemotherapy or radiation treatments.
  4. Women who are pregnant or those with heart disease should consult their physicians before having a Thai massage. Additionally, massage should not be done directly over bruises, tumors, abdominal hernia, inflamed skin, unhealed wounds, or areas of recent fractures.

Additionally, you should make sure your massage therapist knows your relevant medical and health history in order to tailor your massage session to your needs and any restrictions you may have.
